Infinite Pathways

Infinite Pathways is an abstract puzzle game in which we control a cube. Each of its six faces has a different color, and the main objective is to move across a grid by rotating and matching the color of the top face with the color of the cells we step on. There are multiple game modes, and its initial simplicity allows for small modifications and the implementation of new rules to create various game modes. These range from a classic system where the goal is to collect a specific number of cells before time runs out to more complex modes involving static puzzle solving by counting the cube’s movements. Additionally, the game offers flexibility to include streak systems for creating combos or, on the contrary, infinite modes with no limits, designed to provide a relaxing experience for the player.

The player's mood is not just important—it is one of the key aspects of this experience. Therefore, the game allows players to choose from different radio stations via the pause menu, letting them decide what kind of music they prefer to enhance their enjoyment. Similarly, following this same philosophy, players can select from different skins and switch between them at any moment during gameplay.

The core gameplay is extremely simple but by no means easy. It is highly replayable and allows for the integration of engagement structures through score systems, time-based objectives, speed-tracking mechanics, and more.

Artistically, Infinite Pathways embraces the abstraction inherent to its core gameplay. The environments lack logical coherence, aiming for a dreamlike experience rather than something real or recognizable. There is a deliberate absence of life or movement, with settings resembling dioramas that have clear, defined boundaries. The edges of each area border an infinite void, always following the logic of floating land fragments suspended in nothingness. The colors are vivid and highly contrasted, yet they actively emphasize an artificial and almost dissonant aesthetic—something particularly noticeable in the grid-like ground, which remains artificially structured even when vegetation is present in some areas.

In its current state, the game includes a challenge mode featuring multiple gameplay variations, ensuring that players always find something they enjoy. Additionally, more game modes and levels will be added in the future. Lastly, we also plan to expand the game with a small adventure mode, which will introduce more artistic and narrative elements alongside new gameplay experiences that break away from the structured board system of challenge mode.
